UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, Master Plan Phase 1 Renovations

Oakland, CA

As part of phase 1 of the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland Master Plan, R+C provided structural engineering services for multiple inpatient renovation projects. The interior hospital renovations remodeled the PICU, Rehab, and PBX departments. This project also included modifications to the building’s exterior as well as designs for the renovation of the NICU and PACU departments. Approval from the California Department of Healthcare Access and Information (HCAI, formerly OSHPD) was required for cutting new openings in existing shearwalls to enable the transition from open wards to individual patient rooms.
