-State-of-the-art research facility for the arts, humanities and social sciences programs-Occupied retrofit
The renovation and expansion of the McHenry Library was part of an ongoing effort to accommodate significant enrollment growth at the Santa Cruz campus. The design retrofitted the existing 162,364 sf library and adds 118,891 sf, transforming the building into a state-of-the-art research facility for the arts, humanities and social sciences programs. Rutherford + Chekene provided structural engineering services for the project.
Leavening peerless structural engineering skill with humor, philosophy, people skills and, above all, a consummate understanding of San Francisco's permitting process, [Alan] saw this project through.
