CSU Chico Human Identification Laboratory

Chico, CA

R+C is providing structural engineering services for a new 29,600 sf, two-story facility dedicated to forensic anthropology and human identification. The building will house specialized forensic and archaeology laboratories, classrooms, a 100-person training space, offices, and secure forensic areas with controlled access. Designed in collaboration with SmithGroup (architect) and DPR Construction (design-build contractor), the steel-framed facility integrates brick, metal panels, and glass façades to align with Chico’s campus character. R+C’s structural solutions support sensitive lab environments and advanced security requirements while accommodating efficient, cost-effective construction. Scheduled for completion in 2027.
