Joshua joined R+C as full-time employee in 2022 after being an intern. During his internship he worked on in-house development of design automation modules for structural engineering applications. Since joining full-time, he has worked on seismic evaluation of existing buildings, including the Fresno Historic Train Station, several buildings on the UC Santa Cruz campus, and UC Berkeley Wurster Hall. Joshua has also worked with R+C’s Building Systems Group (BSG) on nonstructural evaluations for healthcare facilities. Joshua is service-oriented and enjoys the diverse and collaborative culture within R+C while working on a variety of projects.
Beautiful, Functional, Green
Alan led the R+C team to design a visually minimal support structure for the complex photovoltaic panel canopy between buildings at UC Merced’s Science and Engineering 2 building. The canopy is composed of vertical as well as horizontal PV panels and provides not only a solar energy source for the building, but shading for the plaza and a visually striking entrance.
