The six-story, 450,000 sf acute care hospital provides 241 beds, all in private rooms. The "technology-ready" facility has electronic patient charting and Internet-based capabilities for advanced communication among patients, their families and physicians. The project includes a 180,000 sf medical office building with 84,000 sf for specialty physician offices and a central utility plant. The hospital includes a base isolation system in order to meet Immediate Occupancy Performance Level standards. The hospital was designed to achieve LEED certification. Rutherford + Chekene provided structural engineering, including using Building Information Modeling for clash detection.
