The EmeryStation West Laboratory is one of the East Bay Area’s largest new life-science developments built in the past 10 years. The LEED Gold 350,000 sf, 165-foot-tall laboratory/office tower sits above a two-level podium parking structure and includes a public plaza on the podium level. A new pedestrian bridge joins the building to the existing bridge over the nearby Amtrak tracks, thus creating a connectivity axis between new and existing amenities. At the ground level, the project includes thousands of square feet of retail space, as well as accommodations for bus, rail, and auto transit. Prior to construction, the project required remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater at the site.
