Stanford University Xanadu House Renovation
Stanford, California

Built in 1976, Xanadu House is a three-story, wood-framed student row house. As part of a capital improvement project, new programming, life safety and telecommunication features were added to the 15,000 square foot house; architectural finishes were updated; the kitchen and restrooms were remodeled; and new site landscaping was installed. R+C provided structural engineering services, including a complete seismic rehabilitation to meet current Stanford standards for existing construction and lowering of a portion of the bottom story to permit a new accessible pathway.
