Patrick Ryan
As chief operating officer of R&C, Patrick contributes to the management of the firm by assigning engineers to projects, recruiting, and performing employee evaluations. In addition, he leads the structural design teams for the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center new hospital building and the relocation of the Exploratorium children’s museum to the historic piers 15 and 17 on San Francisco’s waterfront. His recently completed projects include a medical office building for the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and the UC Davis Segundo Student Services Center.
Patrick has designed seismic retrofits for a number of buildings under the California State Building Seismic Program using advanced seismic analysis methodologies. He has also performed seismic evaluations of U.S. embassy buildings in Ghana, the Philippines and Mexico for the U.S. Department of State.
