Summer Internship: Structural Engineering—Building Systems Group

The Rutherford + Chekene (R+C) Building Systems Group (BSG) was formed more than 30 years ago as our in-house studio dedicated to tenant improvements, complex remodels, and seismic bracing of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) distribution systems particularly in healthcare, high-tech, higher education, and laboratory settings. Our collaborative, integrative approach across multiple disciplines has garnered the respect of owners, architects, MEP engineers, and contractors alike.

This internship offers an opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced structural engineers in the Bay Area and to be a part of a dynamic team. We are seeking students interested in structural engineering who have already obtained their bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering, and who will be entering or continuing in a related master’s degree program in the fall. This internship program is well-suited for students who would like to be considered for career employment with R+C after their graduate studies are completed.

“I have always wanted to give back to my community and work on projects I felt were meaningful to me, and I found that with R+C. ”
