Ayse Celikbas

Ayse Celikbas, S.E., LEED AP: Ayse joined Rutherford & Chekene in 1999 after receiving her masters degree from MIT. Her structural design experience includes a number of high-profile projects such as the Ferry Building Renovation on the San Francisco waterfront, the UC Berkeley Units 1&2 Residence Halls Infill Housing, UCSC McHenry Library Expansion, and the EmeryStation East Biotechnology Laboratory in Emeryville. Ayse has been LEED accredited since 2005.

Rich Denio

Richard J. Denio, S.E.: With over 15 years of experience, Rich has a structural portfolio including new building design, evaluation, peer review, and rehabilitation. His projects include diverse building types within the academic, airport, military, hospitality, healthcare, and research fields. He has experience with Integrated Project Delivery using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Revit Structure. His work at R&C includes the New de Young Museum, Sisk Courthouse Conversion, and UC Davis Grad School of Management.

Francisco Parisi

Francisco Parisi, S.E.: Francisco is trained in linear and non-linear analysis and experienced in earthquake engineering, structural dynamics, base isolation and foundation engineering. Francisco served as structural engineer on the award-winning Ferry Building Renovation, the New de Young Museum, the Mills Peninsula Hospital, the Lawrence Berkeley Lab Molecular Foundry, The Laguna Honda Replacement Hospital, and the UC Santa Cruz Digital Arts Facility. He participated in the development of a loading protocol for woodframe structures as part of the CUREE-Caltech Woodframe Project.

David Gwie

David S. Gwie, S.E.: David has designed a variety of buildings over the course of his 14-year career. Recent projects include the Department of Health Services Office Building in Richmond and the Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento. His portfolio also includes significant university projects such as the UC San Diego Cal IT2 Laboratory and the UC Berkeley Stanley Hall Laboratory (nanotechnology research facilities), the Stanford University Global Ecology Research Center, and the UC Merced Science & Engineering Building.

Maureen Joyce

Maureen T. Joyce: Maureen’s portfolio includes the evaluation of structures for seismic risk using FEMA 310 and ASCE 31. Maureen’s work at R&C includes the Santa Clara Valley Specialty Center and the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Hospital, both in San Jose, evaluation and retrofit projects for the Department of General Services, and the Graduate School of Business at Mills College. Her additional work includes the new Chinese Embassy in Washington DC.

Yiling Lin

Yiling Lin: Yiling has over 20 years of experience in CAD design for steel, wood and reinforced concrete structures. Her significant projects include the renovation of the Ferry Building, Mills Peninsula Hospital and MOB, UC Berkeley Stanley Hall, LBNL Molecular Foundry and Sutter General Sacramento New Women’s & Children’s Hospital. She has worked on a dozen projects in Revit, several now in construction.

Ann Roche

Ann Roche, S.E.: Ann has a 19-year career as an engineer. Since joining Rutherford & Chekene in 1998, Ann has served as Project Manager for the sustainably-designed Turtle Bay Museums and Arboretum in Redding and the C.V. Starr Library at UC Berkeley. Ann's current work includes the new Kaiser Permanente San Leandro Hospital.


Jay Yin

Jay C. Yin.: Jay’s career includes a variety of seismic evaluations, retrofits, and new building designs. Since joining R&C in 1997, he has worked on San Francisco’s Pier 1 Redevelopment, the UCSF Parnassus Services Replacement Laboratory, the Kaiser Vallejo Hospital, and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital at Sutter Sacramento. His current work includes the new Exploratorium museum at Piers 15 and 17 in San Francisco.
