Laguna Honda Hospital, San Francisco, California
The hospital’s new campus promises to be one of the most innovative and humane long-term rehabilitation centers in the nation. Upon completion, the campus will include a 1,200-bed acute care/nursing facility and 140 assisted living units.



Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Valley Specialty Center & Plant, San Jose, California
R&C is provided geotechnical and structural services for the new center as well as expansion of the Central Plant. The center is a 234,000 gsf, five-story, steel frame multi-specialty care building that includes outpatient clinics, special procedure areas, diagnostic services, and physician's offices.



Martinez Health Center, Martinez, California
The new Ambulatory Care Facility is part of a seven-phased master plan to improve services to Contra Costa County residents. Then new 55,000 sf building provides space for Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Allergy/Dermatology, Nursing, Diagnostic Imaging, a Pharmacy and a Cafeteria. R&C was structural engineer for the three-story concrete and steel framed building.



UCSF Mission Bay Hospital, San Francisco, California
Rutherford & Chekene is providing structural engineering for one half of the new hospital complex. The $1.3 billion first phase of the hospital complex will include a 289-bed acute care facility and associated outpatient amenities, an ambulatory care center, and a central utility plant.



New Ambulatory Pavilion, Loma Linda Medical Center, California
A four-story, 142,000 sf ambulatory care center with outpatient imaging, the OSPHD III building has a construction budget of $75 million. The scope of services includes shoring for excavation, nonstructural equipment anchorage, and development of a 3D model using Revit (BIM). R&C is providing structural engineering services through construction.



Kaiser Medical Center, Vallejo, California
Initial renovations of the Kaiser facility included the creation of a new site master plan and the renovation of the emergency department. R&C is also serving as structural engineer for the new 2008 Tower.



Stanford School of Medicine, Learning and Knowledge Center, Stanford, California
The 120,000 sf building will include teaching facilities from lecture halls to small-group discussion areas and a 350-person conference center. It will also contain a 21st century biomedical library and the new Center for Immersive and Simulation-based Learning. The project is designed using 3D BIM technology.



Kaiser Stockton Medical Center, Stockton, California
R&C offered structural and civil engineering support for this project which consisted of a 130,000 square foot, three-story, steel frame medical office building; a 55,000 square foot, two-story steel frame ancillary services building and a one-story central utility plant.



Kaiser Medical Center, Vacaville, California
Rutherford and Chekene provided structural engineering services for the 210,000 square-foot steel moment frame medical office building; the 100,000 square foot, two-way steel moment frame ancillary services building; and the 80,000 square foot steel braced frame central utility plant.
 

California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, California
Rutherford & Chekene has provided structural engineering services at all three of California Pacific's San Francisco campuses since 1966. Involvement includes 19 contracts at the California campus, 32 contracts at the Pacific campus, and 17 contracts at the Davies campus.


VA Medical Center, Memphis, Tennessee
In addition to providing structural and geotechnical engineering services for the retrofit of the Center's base structure, R&C served as the seismic consultant for the replacement of the building's 80,000 square foot tower.



Mills Peninsula Hospital, Burlingame, California
The acute care hospital provides 232 beds, all in private rooms, and is designed as a technology-ready facility with electronic patient charting and Internet-based capabilities for advanced patient/physician/family communication. The project includes a 126,000 sf medical office building.



Mercy San Juan Medical Center, Carmichael, California
The new 132,000 sf patient tower includes surgical units, critical care, and other support functions. The project includes a new Central Utility Plant, a new 400-car parking structure and over 46,000 sf of renovation to existing space.



Sutter General Expansion & Retrofit, Sacramento, California
A major new Women’s and Children’s hospital will be built at the site over an existing underground Cancer Center as part of a program to consolidate the Sutter General and the Sutter Memorial campuses. Associated renovation and backfill projects and replacement of the existing Energy Center on the campus are also included in the scope. R&C is structural engineer, also providing SB1953 evaluations and planning support .
