Rutherford & Chekene provides a variety of specialty services including peer review, value engineering and plan review. We offer both structural and geotechnical peer review services at all stages of a project, from schematic design and design development through construction completion. Our engineers review projects to determine the applicability of the structural system being employed and evaluate the site to ensure that the project engineer has fulfilled both code requirements and specified client criteria. For clients who have already embarked on the design process, R&C also offers value engineering services. Acting as an independent consultant, R&C reviews existing designs and provides safe, cost-effective design alternatives that enable clients to stay within budget guidelines. This service is often performed in conjunction with peer reviews. We also provide plan review services for larger, more complex projects such as hospitals and government and university buildings. Plan review consists of evaluating completed projects to determine if the project engineer has satisfied code requirements.
